You may also come across the approach that cold-pressed oil can be used for hair oiling. In this article, we will explain what Ayurvedic oiling of the head is, what oil should be used for it and how to bring out the beauty in them.

What are Ayurvedic oils ? and how are they created?

Ayurvedic oil is a traditional product used in Ayurvedic medicine, which is created by infusing various herbs and plants in an oil base, most often sesame or coconut. The process of preparing Ayurvedic oil is time-consuming and requires care to obtain the maximum health benefits from the ingredients contained in it. First, the appropriate herbs are selected, thoroughly washed and dried. Then, these herbs are simmered in the base oil, often for several hours, until all the beneficial ingredients penetrate the oil. During cooking, it is important to maintain a low temperature so as not to destroy the valuable nutrients. After the cooking process is complete, the oil is carefully filtered to remove plant residues. Thanks to this process, Ayurvedic oils contain the most active ingredients, plant elements soluble in both water and oil. They are rich in vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that have a beneficial effect on the condition of hair and skin. Therefore, using Ayurvedic oils on your hair, you can achieve much better results than using cold-pressed oils.

Oiling your hair step by step

So, to answer the question at the beginning of this article - we first apply the oil to the scalp, where the plant ingredients can be optimally absorbed. absorbed. Let's give them a chance to nourish the scalp, so that the hair is then better nourished. Contained in Ayurvedic oils for hair herbs (like bhringraj, neem, tulsi, shikakai and others) make them have anti-ageing properties, reduce hair loss, prevent loss of shine and dryness.

After applying a small amount of oil to the scalp, perform a gentle (do not rub!) stimulating massage that will stimulate circulation. We relax during this activity, let it be a nice moment for us. After performing this ritual, we spread a small amount of oil along the length of the hair. It is enough to gently pull the hair with the oil to give it elasticity and prevent brittleness and drying. Do not overdo it, the hair does not have to drip with oil. We leave the oil on the hair for at least 30 minutes (this is the shortest, but it still makes sense!). Ideally, when you find at least 3 hours to oil your hair.

The oiling ritual is completed by washing your hair twice with shampoo. Using one of the mild cleansing shampoos from Sattva Ayurveda, you can be sure that the oil will wash off and your hair will not look greasy.

So does oiling only the length of the hair make sense?

Yes, but unfortunately very little. Of course you can still do it if you want to, to keep the hair shaft moisturized and elastic. However, using Ayurvedic oils for this purpose does not allow you to use their power, which is Ayurvedic oils for hair. So if you are using natural good quality products, do it 'properly'. Let them work their magic to enjoy wonderful results in the form of beautiful healthy looking hair.

In conclusion, if you want to experience the full potential of hair oiling, use Ayurvedic oils on both your scalp and hair.
