Pitta is the energy of fire and water—elements that are responsible for transformation, warmth, and clarity. Pitta is the ability to digest food, but also experiences, emotions, and knowledge. It is responsible for our metabolism, ambition, willpower, brilliance, and courage. However, this same inner fire can, if uncontrolled, cause excessive tension, criticism, and explosiveness.
Ayurveda, the ancient science of life, teaches us that to live in harmony, we must know our nature. Understanding the Pitta dosha is not only a way to feel better, but also the key to cultivating inner peace, balance, and energy.
In this article, you will find a compendium of knowledge about the Pitta dosha - how to recognize it, how to care for its balance, what to eat, how to live and how to practice Ayurveda on a daily basis when Pitta dominates in your body or mind.
