In a time when more and more people are looking for natural, conscious and holistic methods of self-care, Ayurveda is coming back into favor as a source of proven, timeless solutions. One such discovery is the Kansa Wand - an Ayurvedic massage wand that supports skin beauty, whole-body relaxation and energy balance. Kansa Wand massage involves gently, slowly moving the metal head over the skin of the face or body. Thanks to its shape, the wand adapts well to the contours of the face, neck, arms or feet, and its action is based on both physical friction and the electromagnetic impact of metal on the skin . Contact with the kansa stimulates microcirculation, warms the tissues and accelerates lymphatic drainage, thanks to which the skin becomes better oxygenated, brighter and firmer. Improved lymph circulation also means faster removal of toxins and reduction of swelling - especially under the eyes or around the jaw.

Interestingly, in the Ayurvedic tradition, it is believed that Kansa massage “drains” the body of excess Pitta , or fire and acidity – one of the three basic energies (doshas). Excess of this dosha can manifest itself as inflammation, skin irritation, emotional tension or insomnia.   1. Thoroughly cleanse your facial skin – remove makeup, dust and excess sebum.

  2. Apply a few drops of oil – preferably natural and Ayurvedic, adapted to your skin type (e.g. Kumkumadi, rose oil, jojoba, grape seed).

  3. Massage your face with slow, circular, sliding movements – from the center of your face outward, upwards. In the eye area, use gentle, circular movements.

  4. Rule: on upward and outward movements you can slightly increase the pressure , and on downward and inward movements – keep it lighter.

  5. The massage can last from a few minutes to fifteen minutes – best in the morning to stimulate the skin, or in the evening to calm down and prepare for sleep.
