Copper Neti Pot – Copper Vessel for Nasal and Sinus Rinsing
Neti pot – copper vessel for nasal and sinus rinsing | 500 ml
What is a neti pot and what is it used for?
A neti pot is a traditional vessel used in Ayurveda for the practice of Jala Neti – rinsing the nose with a saline solution. Regular use supports respiratory hygiene, removes impurities and helps keep the nasal passages clear.
How do you use a neti pot correctly to rinse your nose?
Pour the prepared saline solution into the vessel, then pour it into one nostril and let it flow out of the other. It is important to keep your head in the right position and to breathe calmly through your mouth.
What are the health benefits of nasal rinsing with a neti pot?
-
Removing airborne particles, dust, bacteria and allergens from the nose
-
Moisturizing the mucous membranes and reducing nasal dryness
-
Helping to maintain clear nasal passages and easier breathing
-
Supporting the body’s natural cleansing processes
Is using a neti pot safe for children?
Older children can rinse their nose with a neti pot under adult supervision. Caution is advised, and an appropriate amount of solution should be used. This practice is not recommended for young children.
How do you prepare a saline solution for a neti pot?
It is best to use boiled water cooled to lukewarm with non-iodized salt added (e.g. Himalayan salt or sea salt). The standard ratio is 1 teaspoon of salt per 500 ml of water.
What are the contraindications for using a neti pot?
-
Acute ear or sinus infections
-
Nosebleeds
- Shortly after nasal surgery
In such cases, it is advisable to consult your doctor.
Neti pot vs. nasal spray – which is better?
A spray moisturizes the nasal mucosa, but it does not cleanse the nose as thoroughly as a neti pot. Rinsing with a neti pot works more deeply, effectively removing impurities and excess mucus.
How often can you use a neti pot?
You can use a neti pot every day, e.g. in the morning as part of your hygiene routine, or more often if you are exposed to dust and airborne particles.
How do you clean and disinfect a neti pot?
After each use, wash the vessel thoroughly with warm water and leave it to dry. From time to time, it is a good idea to scald it with boiling water. Copper has natural antibacterial properties.
