Rose oil is one of the most precious and expensive oils in aromatherapy — producing 1 ml can take as much as 4 kilograms of petals. Geranium has an almost identical therapeutic profile and a similar scent character, at a fraction of the price. This is no coincidence — both oils contain geraniol and citronellol as their main active compounds, which are responsible for the rosy aroma and for the effect on the hormonal and emotional systems. How to use?

Diffuser / emotional balance
3–5 drops in water. One of the best oils for mood swings, premenstrual tension and emotional stress. A classic blend for harmony and calm: geranium + lavender (3+2 drops). For feminine strength and balance: geranium + frankincense (3+2 drops).

Massage / hormonal balance
8–10 drops per 25 ml of carrier oil (almond or jojoba). Massage into the abdomen and lower back during menstrual tension. During perimenopause and menopause — massage the neck, shoulders and wrists. Regular massage with geranium is one of the Ayurvedic rituals that support hormonal balance.

Skincare
3–4 drops per 30 ml of carrier oil (jojoba or argan) or in your favorite cream. Geranium regulates sebum production, tones and regenerates the skin — it works for both oily and mature skin. One of the most widely used oils in natural cosmetology.

Bath
Mix 5–6 drops with a tablespoon of carrier oil and pour into warm water. Especially recommended for premenstrual tension and emotional overload.

As a perfume
1–2 drops diluted in a carrier oil on the wrist or behind the ears. A delicate, rosy scent that lasts well on the skin.

Does geranium really help with PMS and menopause?
Yes — in terms of emotional support and easing tension, which is well documented. Clinical studies by the Tisserand Institute confirm that geranium oil supports estrogen secretion in women. It works as support and as part of a care ritual — not as a treatment for hormonal disorders.

How is geranium different from rose oil?
They have a very similar therapeutic profile and a similar scent character — both contain geraniol and citronellol. Rose oil is more intense, more complex and many times more expensive. Geranium is more herbal, lighter and more affordable. In aromatherapy, they are used interchangeably for most applications.

Is geranium suitable for facial skincare?
Yes — it is one of the best oils for facial care. It regulates sebum (works for oily and combination skin), tones and speeds up regeneration (works for mature skin). Always dilute it in a carrier oil or cream — 2–3 drops per 30 ml of base.

Can geranium be used every day?
Yes — both in a diffuser and on the skin when diluted. It is one of the gentler oils in the line and is well tolerated by most skin types. With regular use on the skin, it is a good idea to take a break every few weeks.
